VW Golf Mk8 1.5 eTSI 48V mild hybrid system fault
Engine management light with codes related to the 48V belt-alternator-starter system. The BAS unit on the Mk8 Golf eTSI can develop faults that cause the mild hybrid system to deactivate, resulting in reduced fuel economy and occasionally rough engine stop-start behaviour. A software update from VW resolves most cases. In some instances the BAS unit itself requires replacement.
